My dad (Mr. Fraizer) is the Training Officer at Golden Gate Young Marines. While I was in California, we went the Headquarters several times while the unit was preparing for their annual Recruit Training. I learned about the Young Marines program and decided that I wanted to become a Young Marine.
The Golden Gate Young Marines Recruit Training was held on Camp Parks Reserve Forces Training Center in Dublin, California. It lasted from Sunday June 26th to Saturday July 2nd.
26 June 2016 @ 18:46 - My life changed!
The first day of boot camp wasn't really as bad for me as it was for most people because as you can see in the video, I wasn't carrying anything except my CamelBak. One of the Cadre had instructed me to take my gear to my room earlier in the day. I was at Camp Parks at 12:00pm, almost 7 hours earlier than all other recruits because Mr. Fraizer had to be there early along with the other Adult Staff and Cadre.
After getting pulled out of our cars, we were run into the barracks to put our gear in our rooms.
Some people learn slower than others... We were supposed to have our rooms straight with no gear on the deck (floor) and no open drawers.
Mr. Fraizer sent me to Young Marines Recruit Training with a lock for my wall locker. It came in handy on Day 1!
Recruit Training isn't all marching and pushups. We did team-building activities too.
Back to marching.
Mr. Fraizer taught his favorite game to the Cadre. It's called "AT&T" because you "reach out and touch someone". Its not very fun. (Thanks Dad!)
Mr. Fraizer doing some COD (Close Order Drill) before we head back into the barracks for the night...
